Well, after moving not even two years ago to my PTS/Gamespy hosted Sims 2 site, it appears I'll have to move again.

I must admit, I'm not looking forward to it by any stretch of the imagination, as I have well over a thousand downloads and dozens of site pages.

What I am leaning towards, with so many sites moving to Sims 3 content now, is just creating a small, new blog site to offer only the best of the best ... my very favorite Sims 2 creations.
This way, it will lessen my work load and be less burdensome & tedious for me.
Most importantly, the new little Sugah's Place site will still allow me to offer my creations to those who continue to enjoy Sims 2, like myself.

I will start to move my downloads to a new file host soon ... possibly Mediafire.
I also need to find out what the allowed space is here, so I can decide whether to continue uploading my images thru blogger.com or open a new Photobucket account.
Sugah's Place must be in its new home on the web by late August.

In celebration of Sugah's one year anniversary, several of my generous and talented friends have donated gifts ... from Val & Paige, 2 wonderful new abodes and from Hunter, a set of 6 lovely purses.
You will find them in my gifts section.

My contribution this week is 3 new capri jammies & 2 new scoop tanks for your Sim ladies in Adult Female Fashions, page 7.

I am excited to announce that in just over 3 months, my Gamespy hosted Sims 2 website has had over 7000 hits. To celebrate, I plan on putting together some special downloads for this weekend's update.

In the meantime, thanks to all who have visited (and revisited!) Sugah's Place. Creating for the Sims is a labor of love for me and always has been. I hope you continue to enjoy my free downloads.

Recently, I have branched out a bit with my creations. You will find a few brand new sections, including an art gallery and a coordinating sets dept.

Hello, my fellow Simmers.

Recently, our site director at Planet the Sims Forum, Chris, invited my Sims 2 site to be hosted by Planet the Sims. I was thrilled to be offered, as I will have unlimited bandwith (and probably far more visitors) being hosted by PTS/Gamespy. I also appreciated Chris' support and faith in me, as well.

My new Sims site is called Sugah's Place. Currently, I am offering custom walls, floors, a line of make up, real estate, fashion recolors and gifts donated from generous creators of Sims 2 objects.

My latest update was a nice size:

Announcing my new Sims 2 site!

Good morning, fellow Simmers. It's been awhile since my last update.

I recently opened a new mini-site where I can share all of the custom walls & floors I have created for TS2 of late.

It's called Sugah's TS2 Home Interiors. I'm definitely in a creative mood these days, so you can bet there will be updates quite regularly.

One of the things I like to do is not only show images of my custom designs, but also, screenshots of how they look in the game.

Soon, I hope to be opening a small real estate section as well.

One more thing...it's important that you refresh each page whenever you visit the site, so you are guaranteed to get the most updated version.

Here, pictured below, are just a few of the fine custom walls you will find at Sugah's TS2 Home Interiors.

Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group Update

It doesn't seem like just over a year ago that I started Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group. We now have over 490 members and are still growing with each passing week.
Thank you for your patience in waiting for some new downloads for your Sims.

This time, I have several painting collections to offer you by Botero (6), Cappiello (4), Klee (5), & Warhol (3). I also have a small Renaissance Collection (4), which contains paintings by Botticelli (2), DaVinci (1) and Michelangelo (1). You will find each of these sets in their own folders in the file section of our group. Images of the paintings can be found in their proper folders in our photos section.

Better late, than never...

It's obviously been awhile.

I am hoping tonight, on the eve of Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group very first anniversary, I will be able to complete a nice little download gift for my loyal members. We now have over 460 members in just one year's time. I am so pleased.

In my spare time, when I am not helping to moderate Planet the Sims forum, I am enjoying playing TS2 like crazy. I learn something new almost everyday with this game. Currently, I am playing with the Nightlife EP and have Pets and Seasons waiting to be installed.

There is a storyline developing in my mind, that takes place in Strangetown. I may start sharing it in a blog that will be somehow connected to this one. I am inspired by two of my favorite PTS forum members, Emily and Ariana, who currently are writing very intricate Sims stories. Em has been sharing hers online for many years now. Ariana is pondering the genre in which she will share her Sims tale. I haven't got the creative writing juices flowing the way I did back in my youth. So, I don't think I will get to this project anytime soon. However, I do have a nice storyline developing in this feeble old brain of mine!

I hope to have a Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group update, complete with pictures of the new downloads tomorrow. In the meantime, here are a few of my most recent screenshots from TS2:

For those of you who play The Sims 2, you will recognize one of the pre-made families here: Darren and Dirk Dreamer. For some reason, those two have really endeared themselves to several of our forum members who play regularly.
My Darren (once a widower) is now re-married to a bright, beautiful woman named Macy. Macy and Darren had a daughter together, the darling miss Maddie.
Dirk grew up into a handsome man, devoted to his dad, step-mom and sister. He found a lovely woman, Maura, who shared the same values as he, and married her.
Maura and Dirk now have two beautiful daughters, Delaney and Danica.
Darren, Dirk's father, is finally a grandfather ("Poppy"). Stay tuned for more on the Dreamer's Dynasty.

Good Morning. It's been awhile.

I realize it's been awhile. My father lost the battle with lung cancer last month. I had been spending a good amount of time in E. Tx with he and my mom during this time. My sister was there with us, too. I recently returned from staying with my mom for a few weeks after dad's passing. My heart aches for her, being alone there. She is a strong woman who continues to amaze me more as each year passes. I am proud to call her my mother.

To all of my members at SSWYG and the Planet the Sims Forum (where I continue to enjoy hanging out) who have been so wonderful sending prayers and kind words during my dad's sickness and then his passing, I am so very grateful. Many thanks for your thoughtfulness during such a difficult time in my family's lives.

That being said, I am trying to re-group and get back into both my own real world and virtual reality.

I am now a member of the TS2 Simmers of the world, as of Valentine's Day (or thereabouts). My hubby bought me a puter with the capacity to play. Can you believe it? After two years of the game sitting in my drawer and not being able to play it (when everyone around me has been playing for quite some time now), I am thrilled to announce I can, too! WOO HOO!!!

I will continue to update my Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group and will soon be offering some very special downloads for TS1 to celebrate over 400 members! Can you believe it? I am just so excited about that.

In addition, I will be sharing some of my TS2 adventures, tips, finds, links, etc. with you here.

An Update for My Fellow Simmers

Hello, fellow Simmers. Are there still any TS1 Simmers out there?
I am still playing TS1 Deluxe with HD, UL and MM EPs.
Recently, however, my sister jumped on the Sims wagon. She's addicted to TS2. I got to play and WOW, is it awesome. I love the zoom capability, graphics, and many of the new additions/changes to the game. A couple of things I noticed I don't like as much, but overall, Sims 2 gameplay is terrific!
Can't wait to have a new puter so I can play mine (still collecting dust in the drawer, unfortunately).

Things are still going well at Planet the Sims Forum. We have several fun, loyal, devoted members who show up regularly to schmooze about the Sims and many other things. I haven't created in awhile for my Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group, but that is certainly on the agenda for this week. I have in mind to do a few more paintings, perhaps some more Warhol and a few Paul Klee paintings. Not sure yet. That reminds me...did I ever post/announce the newest Warhols here? I shall get to that soon, if not.

Lately, I have been experimenting with Makin' Magic. I really wish I had the Prima Strategy Guide for it. I love those guides, but am pretty sure they are not available at local stores anymore for TS1. I did print some stuff off the internet though. It will be helpful, I'm sure.

What's new in your Sims world lately?
I recently created a new character. Her names mean "magic" and "possesses magical power". Taika Wakanda is her name. Her origin in half Finn and half Native American Indian.
(If you haven't checked it out already, the 20,000 Names site is superb. It will help you find all kinds of names, of all kinds of meanings and origins. I love it and have recommended to it to Simmers who love it, too! http://www.20000-names.com/index.htm )

Anyway, I digress. I use Hedda's Supersculpture hack to get the ingredients quickly that Taika needs for makin' magic. So far, she has done a few spells successfully but hasn't used them on anyone. I will post images of my Sims adventures asap.

Hello, Fellow Simmers.

Just a quick update to tell you I am still in E. Texas, helping to care for my parents. I may be able to go home for awhile, sometime next month, off and on, thru the holiday season. We are taking each day as it comes, but I should know more by month's end.

Did I mention I FINALLY broke down and bought Makin' Magic awhile back? For YEARS, I have been playing TS1 Deluxe with just Hot Date and Unleashed EPs. I haven't gotten adventurous and tried any magic yet. I've downloaded some hints to help me get through, but ultimately, I'd like to purchase the Prima Guide for Makin' Magic. I have bought the guides for The Sims, Unleashed, and another one, I believe, and have found them so helpful. Wish me luck! I'm not usually that brave about trying new things with my Sims, and have gotten so spoiled knowing my way around my current EPs for YEARS!!!

Before month's end, I am going to try to create a bit for Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group. We are over 255 members strong now, just since May 9th. I couldn't be more pleased! (Thank you, as always, to all who have joined. I appreciate your membership.)
I haven't decided what free downloads I am going to offer just yet, but am hoping something will inspire me, soon...

It's been awhile. My Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer on September 10th. I have been away, helping my folks, ever since then. For a few days this week, I am able to be at home, spending time with my hubby and catching up on things around here.

To all of the wonderful members of Sugah Sims World who have been keeping my family in your prayers, I am most grateful. It's been a difficult time for my family, as you would expect.
We are 245 members strong now, which is so awesome. I hope to update at SSW soon, so hang in there with me.

A bit to my surprise, my Blockbuster Movie Poster Power Pack is now my TOP downloaded item at Planet the Sims. It has already been downloaded 138 times in just a few weeks!
I submitted this pack of 8 blockbuster movie posters in a zip file on July 26th. It is doing amazingly well, and I couldn't be more pleased.

You can download this set for your Sims kids at PTS or SSW Yahoo Group.

Been Havin' Tech Issues.

Good morning, Fellow Simmers. Sorry I haven't been on in awhile. The hard drive on my laptop died. I finally got a new one and my dear friend, Honey Bunny, helped me get everything up and running again. I seem to be having a few other issues now (that blue screen of death shows up on occasion, then re-starts my puter). So, this morning, I am going to do a check disk when I re-start the laptop.
I got my Sims re-installed, and though I was crashing last night, I think I am almost back in business. I hate to even get excited about it, but am optimisic.

That being said, there has been much going on in my Sims world. Not only am I having to re-download so much that was lost (I lost everything I had in that puter and am re-starting the Sims from scratch.), I am also having to re-create families. That will take a lot of time, as I played for years, and had full neighborhoods of Sims I played. I am up for it though, and am just going to consider it a fun challenge.

Our PTS Forum, which I help moderate, is still incredibly active. Come join us and schmooze about Sims some time. All Simmers are welcome.

My SSW Yahoo Group has over 100 members in less than 3 months! I am just so pleased. One of the many other things I have been working on (aside from keeping up at PTS, downloading and re-building my Sims world, & re-cooping lost programs) is I have been creating a 100 member gift for my SSW members.

Getting Adventurous After All These Years!

I promised the awesome PTS Forum Dream Team that I would get more experimental with The Sims. I have always played it like real life, never having my Sims live anything but normal, decent, somewhat average lives. They live, they love, they work, they play, they have children, make friends, eat, drink and are merry.
Well, evidently, I must have missed the boat all these years, as I haven't ever even bought a guinea pig (for fear my Sim would get sick and die). The worst I've ever done is drown some Sims, when they either served their purpose (before the money cheat) or I got disgusted with or tired of them.

Below, is my promise kept to the great gang at Planet the Sims.

Harriet and Wann Doomed (I named them Doomed cause that's what they were from the start, lol) taunting and teasing:

Wann grows tired of the fussin' and fightin' and is outta there (This was the 1st time I've ever seen this, too):

I set off a rocket launcher to burn Harriet alive (also a first for me, and a completely wild trip):

And VOILA, Harriet bit the dust. (Rest in Peace, Chicky. You're outta here, too):

I did it! It was weird being so focused on having a couple destroy a marriage, rather than work to be in love and have a great union. I strive to keep my Sims at 100 all the time, not -100! lol

Now I have to create another new Sim and buy him a room full of guinea pigs...

Chris, the site director at PTS, is trying to get the kinks worked out of the image problem with Tuscany Gold Tile. For some reason that Ravenna Italian Tile collection wants to merge together and gets all messed up when I try to make a change in one of the downloads. SHEESH! I am hoping Chris will have it fixed soon, as Tuscany Gold is one of my most popular, and I want folks to be able to see the proper image when they view it.

Sugah Sims World Group celebrates over 80 members!

As a gift to my group, in celebration of over 80 members in under 2 months, I have several new downloads to offer.

A couple of weeks back, I added 4 Mark Ryden framed paintings. Ryden's work is both intriguing and disturbing. It's perfect for your Goth Sim's homes. You will find all 4 paintings zipped in the "Mark Ryden Collection" folder. (This collection is also available at PTS.)

I also added the "Summer Splash Collection". Three colorful minis for your Sims girls zipped up in their own folder. (There is a different one for each skin tone.)

Things are rolling right along...

My PTS downloads continue to be downloaded, some more frequently than others.
I am just grateful to be sharing what I create with other Simmers. I enjoy creating for The Sims and wish I could do more. (Once I get T-Mog down, I'll be able to offer more.)

I now have 68 members at Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group in less than 1 month. On Friday, the group will be a month old! I am working on several new creations for my members, and also for Planet the Sims.

I joined a new forum this afternoon: My Sims Forum. There are only a few members, but they have welcomed me and seem nice.
Pay the little forum a visit, if you get a chance and say "hi".

I have been trying to think of ways to help get more regular, devoted members at PTS Forum, where I moderate, too. Some of the others out there have a very active regular membership. I would like to strive for that as well at PTS. I'd love it if you'd pay us a visit there sometime, too.

In the meantime, there are several framed works of art that are following fast behind this list of my top 5 downloads at PTS. I can guarantee this time next week, this list will look somewhat different. Here's the list, as of tonight:

This past weekend, I created four new Mark Ryden paintings, available for free downloading at PTS.

Mark Ryden's art is at once intriguing & unsettling, baffling & enchanting. They have a rather "Tim Burton" edge, as my fellow PTS Forum moderator, Sam, has said.

This is a photo of "A Cotton Candy Day" wall & tile. The Floor Watcher and Little Glutton framed art by Chuck Agro adorn the walls. All are available free at PTS and Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group.

Soon, I hope to be adding some new downloads I create with T-Mog, once I get settled in with it next week. I hope to have 60 members at the Yahoo group by then, and will do something special in celebration.

In the meantime, here is the latest download count, of my most popular creations available at PTS. I have only named the top 5, as of this afternoon:

Self-Portrait of Death with 31 downloads

Several new downloads are hot on the trail of the above, mainly Henri Matisse's Blue Nude, Coca Cola Polar Bears and the Betty Boop framed art. It won't be long, if those three keep it up, before they start getting near the top of the chart!

I am disappointed that Little Glutton and The Floor Watcher have not been downloaded more, as they are truly fun, colorful, trendy works of art that look great on your Sims walls. I placed several new images at PTS to show how nicely some of my walls and floors go with the framed art. (The one in this post is an example.)

This is our anniversary weekend, so after tonight, I will be away from my laptop for awhile.

40 Members Celebration Update!

I am pleased to announce that Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group now has 40 members in just over two weeks!

In celebration of this event, I bring to you the new "Betty Boop" collection. Currently, the series has one wallpaper, one designer floor tile, and two Betty Boop framed art for your Sims Betty Boop fans.

The Baby Cheat

As promised, in the description of this blog, I am going to share some of my fave cheats with you.

Many of you, who still play The Sims (like I do), probably already know about this cheat. I've known about it for awhile, but I tried it for the first time just this month.
It works and man, does it save time and trouble!

For those of you who may not know of it:

After a baby is born, make sure everyone has finished getting all ga-ga (clapping) over the baby's birth.
Pause the game, once you are sure no one has a cradle icon in their list of actions.
Go to buy or build and use the "move_objects ON" cheat.
Delete each and every member of the Sims in the household, except the new baby.
Go back to live mode and unpause the game.
*Be careful NOT to bring ANY of the other family members back. At this time, you want them to stay in Sims Never Never Land (or wherever they go when you delete them for awhile).

After a few hours, the "take care of your baby, or we'll send the authorities out on your happy tushy" message will pop up. Don't worry about it. Just click "ok". They won't come.

I speed up the game and just let it run on high speed for 72 hours (from the time of the baby's birth). 72 hours after the baby is born, it will become a child. And your Sims didn't even have to "play, sing, feed" til they felt like dropping from exhaustion!
The downside of this cheat is, they will have only 20 relationship pts with the family members when born, rather than 50. Big woopdy ding poop. It's a fair trade off and takes no time at all to remedy.
He/she might not have as many personality points or interest points as his/her siblings, if you use this cheat, also.
If that bothers you, there are awesome hacks at a couple of sites to increase the interest points and add personality points. I use 'em all the time. They work fast and well!

Oh, and don't forget to bring your other Sims back when the new babe comes along!

New Designer Bathroom Tile.

Submitted for your approval, now available at both Planet the Sims and Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group, is the complete "Ravenna Italian Bathroom Tile" collection.
You can preview a photo of the floor tiles in my most previous post, here at Sugah Sims World Blog. Or, you can go to SSW Yahoo Group (or Planet the Sims), where photos, along with the files, are available.

In the collection, there are two designer bathroom wall tiles: Tuscany Gold and Sienna Sky, with matching floor tiles, for your discriminating Sims'. They are perfect in the bathroom and look really great in your Sims home.

New designer floor tiles at Planet the Sims.

Brought to you by Sugah Sims Interiors, tonight I bring you two new designer floor tiles. This is no ordinary tile. A lustrous finish brings out the jewel-tone flashes of this designer floor. It is elegance defined. Light plays and refracts on this beautiful bathroom tile, enhancing the beauty of the colors and lightness of details.

Currently, these floor tiles are available only at Planet the Sims. I will soon be adding them to my Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group, along with lovely matching wall tile (this weekend).

Yahoo Groups is still having a problem with the "photos" section, as have tried to access several group's photos, but with no luck. I will keep trying. In the meantime, I will provide a link, as promised, so you can see what you are downloading.

Membership is increasing at Sugah Sims World Yahoo Group. I am thinking about having a membership drive and when we reach 50 or 100 members, I will offer a great download package to all who are members of the group.

A Few Updates for My Fellow Simmers

First of all, Yahoo Groups seems to be having trouble with their "photos" section. I will continue to post photos of my latest available downloads here, as always, but will also begin including them in either the zip file (if applicable) or I'll provide a link where the file can be seen. I, for one, do not like downloading anything unless I can see it first.
I am soon going to be submitting a few downloads to The Sims Warehouse and The Sims Resource. I have already sent the files to The Sims Warehouse, but the director of the site has been so busy, he has not been able to put them on the site. It should be this weekend, hopefully.
My delay in submitting them to The Sims Resource is a Yahoo Mail problem. There seems to be issues with the file attachment option. I am hoping Yahoo gets the problem worked out with both Groups and Mail. It's crampin' my style! lol

In the meantime, here is a list of the Top 5 most downloaded Sims items I have submitted to Planet the Sims:

My Coca Cola framed art is doing well.

People continue to download some of my creations at Planet the Sims.
It's not a place a lot of folks think to go for downloading, so it doesn't get as much exposure as say, The Sims Resource. But I am happy to be sharing some of what I have created for my Sims.

One thing I am surprised about...the fashions I recently submitted are not being downloaded much. I am proud of them. They turned out really well, and look great on! (See "From Sugah Sims Boutique" blog post of May 2, below.)
Maybe folks aren't looking for Sims skins there. (The framed art seems to be my most popular.)

To date, these are the Top Five most downloaded items I have submitted to PTS:

Self-Portrait Facing Death (framed art) 23 downloads

It appears to be brand new, so I don't know how well it will do.
I considered participating in The Sims Resource's forum and submitting items to their site, but they are so large and very picky about how it is done.
I still may one day...not sure.

The name of The Sims portal I have recently joined is: The Sims Warehouse.
The Sims Warehouse offers news, downloads, cheats, skins, and discussion forums.
As I said, it is a very new site, perhaps only a couple of months old. The site is SO NEW, in fact, they don't have any Sims 1 content to download yet!
I have offered to submit some of my creations. My offer was accepted, and so now I will learn how Simmer (the moderator/administrator) would like me to do it.
Stay tuned...

The site is not known now, I am sure, but hopefully, it will get more recognition and traffic soon. Pay them a visit and join, won't you?

From Sugah Sims Boutique ...

I have submitted the first (of what I hope is many to come) fashions at Planet the Sims. I have been using The Sims Creator (which comes with Sims Deluxe) for awhile now to create new outfits, using meshes included in the game. (I have not attempted to create any of my own meshes, only the fashions.)

I am pleased to introduce my three models: Lee Lee, Imani and Sophia. They are wearing the bold and beautiful, mod "Retro Collection" from Sugah Sims Boutique.

Lee Lee is modeling "Retro Pink" (lt skin tone); Imani is modeling "Retro Blue" (dk skin tone); and Sophia is modeling "Retro Green" (med skin tone).

Each of the dresses comes only in the color shown, for that particular skin tone.
Since the site director, Chris, is always on the ball, I would imagine you will be able to download them (free, as always) by tonight at Planet the Sims. Just check in towards the end of the day (if you are in the U.S.).

This is what the set looks like (so far, as more art for your Sims walls will follow). I have submitted the wallpaper, floor tile, and Coca Cola framed art. The art has been downloaded 9 times already! Not sure if that is a record for me in just a couple of days. lol

My Van Gogh's Starry Night painting is doing rather well (23 downloads to date), as is my Picasso Self-Portrait Facing Death(about 17 downloads), my Mod Blue carpet (17 downloads so far), and several other paintings and wallpaper that have about 13 or 14 downloads each.

It's been fun submitting and learning that folks like my walls, floors and paintings enough to put them in their own game! Very cool.

I found two more tutorials to see if I can figure out the TMog program and Sims Paint Program. Not sure if it will happen for me, but I hope to try tonight. Then, I could create some really awesome art work for the Sims...

I have recently downloaded the Sims Transmogrifier and Sims Program's SimsPaintShop. I am trying to figure out how to work my way through them, using tutorials I found online.
It may be awhile, but there is a fella at the Planet the Sims Forum (where I hang out a lot...come join us and get answers to questions or just post an opinion or thought about Sims!). His name is Wulfpaw, and he is a great asset to that forum, just as the site director, Chris, is. I am hoping Wulfpaw can help me get through some of the tougher issues with the programs, but I don't know if he has the SimsPaintShop or not...

More to come, I have a full day ahead of me, but hope to get back to trying to figure T-Mog out later!

A Common Problem at the Forum

If any of you new Simmers have accidently deleted a pedestrian or auto portal in your game (or a mailbox), and your Sim can no longer either get to work or have anyone over, download this fix into your game:

(Scroll down a bit. This is where you are able to download a pedestrian portal replacer or a mailbox replacer, along with some other objects that may fix problems.)

I have downloaded it into my game, after trying another portal replacer, and it worked. It fixed the problem, so I got rid of the first portal replacer I put into my game (which really screwed things up big time...BIG TIME).

If you think the answer to getting out of paying your Sims' bills is to delete the mailbox, you are creating serious problems in the game by doing so. Use the money cheat to add to your cash flow and paying the bills should never be an issue.

If you have Unleashed and you use the move_objects cheat (which is awesome, but can be dangerous), be careful deleting stray pets "messes" at the end of your property or by the mailbox. The portals are invisible. You can not see them. You could very well inadvertently delete a pedestrian or vehicle portal. Friends won't be able to come to you, nor will you be able to go anywhere if one or both of these are deleted.

Have fun, but be careful with the move_objects on cheat!

I am not sure if folks even use webring searches to find sites they're looking for anymore. Back in the day, when I first created an advice website through Geocities, people seemed more interested in webrings. Don't know if that's the case these days.

Anyway, I am trying to generate more traffic to this site, so folks can be made aware of the free downloads I am offering. They aren't too fancy or advanced, like some of the awesome stuff out there, but I am pretty pleased with the ones I have submitted at Planet the Sims, so far. They are being downloaded by other Sims 1 fans, so that makes me happy.

The image here is Starry Night, Vincent Van Gogh's masterpiece. I submitted it last night, I believe. I figured since the Picassos were pretty popular, someone might like a Van Gogh.

FYI: With the help of Wulfpaw at the Planet the Sims forum, I was able to figure out what my problem with no one but the Sim I am playing at the time, visiting a certain Old Town mall. I worked hard on that mall, and not one but the one family could visit at a time. I couldn't figure it out. I knew it couldn't be a portal problem, since at least one Sim family could come and go with no problem. Wulfpaw told me about an Old Town patch/download that allowed more visitors on Old Town lot. I read the "read me" file on it and figured it out! The problem was too many NPCs on an Old Town lot!

So, if you have this problem, you can either download the patch that fixes it (I don't really know if it called a "patch", per se), or just remove some of that lot's vendors (cashiers, food vendors, etc). See if that doesn't make a difference! I removed some of them (merged a few registers, so I didn't have as many cashiers) and downloaded the patch, and the awesome Old Town Mall I created is up and running again, with plenty of neighbors schmoozing and schlepping around together!

When last I posted, I was worried about my hard drive going out. I've been getting msgs - crash report analyses - from Microsoft (after the blue screen of death freezes up my puter). My friend, Honey Bunny, suggested it could be the hard drive going out.
I started to think about it and figured the puter usually acts strangely when I do not shut it completely down at night, but instead, opt for Stand by mode. I asked him if it could be a coinky dink, and he said he hadn't thought of it, but it could be the Stand by driver or something.
So, I asked him if there was something I could do to fix it, or at least look into it, and he said he'd do some research for me (beloved puter geek that he is). I haven't had any problem the last two days, since I've been shutting it down completely at night. Keep your fingers crossed...

I am still enjoying the Planet the Sims forum. It's fun to help people and get in on Sims discussions. I love discussing Sims as much as I like playing the game, almost!

I have submitted several walls, floors and art decore/paintings. So far, the most popular items I have submitted are:

Self-Portrait of Death (Picasso) painting ... 13 downloads since April 10.
Caribbean Carnivale wallpaper ... 9 downloads since April 6 (and a 10 rating!).
Fresh Air (S. Guadagno) painting ... 12 downloads since April 15.
Stucco Tropicale wallpaper ... 7 downloads since April 12.

It seems the paintings are most popular. I have noticed that one I thought would be well-liked, hasn't been downloaded much, so you never know about folks' taste and what they are looking for.

Cat Nap (painting by Susan Guadagno, and pictured in this post) is my latest download. Since yesterday, it's already been downloaded 4 times!

I have Starry Night by Van Gogh I hope to submit in a day or two. We'll see how that one flies.

One of the fellas (Wulfpaw, aka Sam) at the forum is quite knowledgable and helpful. He is devoted to helping his fellow Simmers and knows a lot about fixin' stuff.
He helped me with my exclusive mall, by finding me a download that fixed the problem of no one showing up on that lot but the Sim I was operating at the time. It had to do with too many NPCs on that Unleashed lot. So, I downloaded the patch/program, saw it worked, got rid of some of the vendors and merged a few of the cash registers (NPC clerks). It runs well and plenty of neighbors visit the mall when I do. I am so glad. I worked hard on that property and I like it. I might post a photo of it soon.

More to come. Snacky is about to leave town, so I'd better see if he needs anything.

I think I am in deep, deep trouble.

I've been having major puter probs off and on, esp. today, on my laptop. (Which is where my Sims game is installed.)
I sent the info to my Honey Bunny. He said that clacking sound could be a failing hard drive. I am so worried my puter is about to die. I enjoy my Sims so much.

I've been spending some time tonight on PTS Forum Board. I normally don't like forums, but if I can help a newbie Sim player out at all, I'd like to do so. I had lots of questions when I first started many moons ago, but didn't know about the forums.

I didn't get to play my Sims today. I spent a good part of the day scrubbing the kitchen floor. Such a glamourous life, you say? lol

The photos above are The Rigatonis looking at the Picassos. Vinnie and Nicky are in the first picture. Sophie and Rosie are in the second photo. Joey and Paulie are missing. (More on this wonderful family soon.)

Pic and I spent some time downloading some cool stuff she needed into her Sims files. I found some more walls, beds, flowers, pictures, skins, etc., etc. She was grateful for it all. Her games seems to be playing just fine since Gummy Bear and I worked on it together.
We got to play for a little while, but the afternoon passed quickly, so she had to go. It was a nice afternoon, though. I am glad when Pic and Pita can visit for awhile.

She called today and installed Superstar. I have never seen it, but from what she describes, it sounds really neat. I don't have enough drive space to install it, I'm sure. That's okay. I am happy with Hot Date and Unleashed, til I get a puter that will play my Sims 2. (Own it, just can't play it.)

I am glad her game is working now. Her beau works different hours than her, so when she has down time, she can spend it playing her Sims. I'll be curious to know what she thinks of Superstar. She'll probably call me later.

I guess I had better get going. I'll update about the Picasso painting submissions, if Chris (site director of Planet the Sims) approves them.

I've already submitted my matching Caliente!!! wall and carpet, and my matching Caribbean Carnivale wall and tile. It is just so neat to know others have downloaded my creations into their games. I can't imagine how the truly gifted and talented artists feel when their creations are downloaded by the hundreds and thousands. That would be so awesome. I would just be happy to get a few dozen downloads under my belt. lol

I thought I'd try something different this time (though I have many more walls and floors I can submit).

I have decided to see if anyone likes my two Picasso self-portraits (pictured here). They are currently pending approval right now. Since I only submitted this one photo for both, I am not sure how it will fly with Chris. We'll soon see, hopefully.

has been accepted at Planet the Sims (Gamespy)! I was so happy to see it on the website tonight when I got home.
Let me tell you. Chris, the site director, really is great at getting things done in a timely fashion and responding to members' email. I appreciate that kind of devotion and loyalty.
I submitted the two floors that match each wallpaper I created tonight(pictured in this post) . I am thinking of submitting some of the art I have created for my Sims (maybe this weekend).

Until then, I am so tickled to be able to share some of my creations with other Sims' fans. It's so neat to think that other Sims players have some of my walls and floors in their games. You can download my latest wallpaper submission here.

I do not know if it will be accepted or not (it is currently pending acceptance). This red hot wallpaper is called "Caliente!!!" and costs $10.

I have matching carpet and floor tile to go with it, but only submitted the wall file and image (seen here) at Planet the Sims just now.

I am not certain I did it correctly, so I emailed the site director to introduce myself and be certain I did everything right.

Planet the Sims

It's a beautiful day in Simsville. The photo is of "me" in the game. HA! I wish I looked that good in a tank and jeans. Sheesh! But hey, it's MY world, right? Gotta love this game!

I'm wanting to dabble in building a beach house on lot 10 today, if I have time. I got some ideas from other sites, but the hardest part is, making the beach and shoreline look good and real enough. I have some sand and water tiles. I need to make sure palm trees, etc., can be put on the sand. That would give it more authenticity.

Anyway, I signed up at Planet the Sims awhile back and am seriously thinking of submitting some of my wallpaper and floors. I have created a lot of colorful, bold and beautiful interior stuff and a few exterior brick and stucco walls. Some of my creations might be too bright and bold for others. I personally like to play in cheerful houses. I have tried playing Sims in midevil homes, goth homes, homes done in dark, & dramatic colors, etc., but I find myself not playing them as often as others.
As in "real life", I prefer sunny, bright homes.

Today, I found the submission sheet at Planet the Sims, and am going to gather a couple of my faves together to submit sometime today or later this week, hopefully. I am thinking I may even take special requests for wallpaper and floors. I can do most any kind and have been experimenting with both interior and exterior designs. I can do paint, brick, stucco, wallpaper, carpet and tile, etc. I am teaching myself different textures and effects in PSP7 lately, so soon, I should be able to offer an even greater variety of walls and floors for Sims1.

WOO HOO! Between the two of us (my Honey Bunny and I), I think we've got Pic's puter/game prob figured out. My Honey Bunny worked for quite awhile trying to get rid of a lot of unnecessary backround stuff. I think he got rid of a virus program in Pic's puter (which she doesn't need, not having internet at this time). When we reinstalled Sims Deluxe, it crashed immediately to desktop during start up still.

I was so bummed. I did some research last night and saw that Sims Deluxe had a few unique crashing issues. It appeared my friend did most all he could. Then, I noticed a patch for Sims Deluxe on the EA/Maxis website. Pic doesn't have the capacity to get it, however, I saw if she had Unleashed or EPS that were subsequent to Unleashed, they took care of the Deluxe (skin, etc) issues. So, I thought, "What the hell?" What have we got to lose? I installed Unleashed in her puter.

Sure enough, it started up and stayed up. I even created a family, built a house, and decorated it. The game still didn't crash. I noticed the previous skins, roofs, walls and floors I gave to her (through a cd) were still there, just not the object downloads. So, I downloaded them (after quitting the game), cranked it up again, and voila! It still played!!!

I think she may be okay now, but I am not sure. I just hope nothing goes wrong. I am going to crank it back up, after I find a few more fashions and heads for her. She has very little to choose from, esp. the male and children categories. I'm gonna do that after this post, even though I should be vacuuming and shining. lol

I am pretty proud of myself for figuring it out. Between Honey Bunny and I, we got her Piccola's game up and runnin' again, after all this time. Yee ha!

Now my baby and I can sit side by side and play together, whenever she is not going to school or working one of her three (pt) jobs!!!

...are supposed to get together for Tuscan Spinach Dip and Pot Stickers tonight. Maybe we'll kick back a few Cosmopolitans, too (I could use a couple, lol).

Anyway, this might be the night he "tweaks" Piccola's laptop, so we can get it running efficiently enough to allow her to play her Sims. We shall see. I hope, I hope.

I moved the Macaronis out of their home in hopes that a bigger, brighter, better home might make them more enjoyable to play. I am in the process of redecorating it, but can't get motivated.
I promised my Beauty I would send her photos of her and her husband in my game (The Gemellis) thru email. I am going to do that for her today, if possible.

Not much on the Sims Front here. I downloaded some perfumes (for my DT and OT shops) from Around the Sims, one of my fave download sites. The choices, when my Sim clicks on a perfume to buy are "necklace and diamond ring". I emailed Sandy at ATS about it and am hoping she can get back with me about what the prob might be.

The Most Awesome Hack EVER!!!

Earlier this month, I posted about the Supersculpture. I did not realize something about the hack, so I could benefit from all it had to offer. I emailed Hedda, who is so great about wanting to help her fans (thank you, again, Hedda). She asked whether I was using the "tab" key for more (all of the) Supersculpture options. I didn't know to use the "tab" key. Upon clicking on it, a plethora of wonderful choices came up. This one little golden sculpture does it all, folks! I am not kidding!

With this incredible hack, your Sim can make an instant friend (anyone in the neighborhood, any Townie, and even the strays in the neighborhood). You can also opt to fall in love instantly with a neighbor or Townie as well. In addition to this (which makes it an awesome hack alone, as making and keeping friends can be exhausting at times), it also will: give your Sim money, give him a promotion, refresh him, maximize his skills, interests, and personality, etc. UNBELIEVABLE! What other hack could you ever need, but Hedda's Supersculpture!

Kudos again to you, Miss Hedda. May I just say your wanting to help me figure out what the problem was (didn't know about the "tab" key for more options), makes me want to tell as many folks as I can reach about the good things you are doing over at Some Sim Things even more.

Keep up the great work, Hedda. I love your site.

Weekend Update

I spent a lot of time last night with Piccola and her laptop. She has Sims Deluxe, plus most of the expansion packs (HD, UL, SS - none are currently installed...yet). The game kept crashing everytime we tried to play it. We even un-installed and re-installed Sims Deluxe, but to no avail. I went to her system requirements/information for the game and it says she needs a minimum of 233 MHz but has only 129MHz. It also says she needs a minimum of 1400 MB of drive space, but has only 1398 MB. That could definitely be the problem. Since I don't know how to GET more of those things, if possible, I emailed my dear friend (and puter guru) Gummy Bear (aka Honey Bunny to me). I am hoping he will get back with me today.

We were wanting to sit side-by-side (you know, kind of a "Mamala-Piccola Thang") and play the Sims on our laptops for most of the night. Instead, we worked dilligently to try to figure out what the hell the scoop was with her game/puter. It was time spent together, though I know she was bummed and frustrated. We were really looking forward to our "Sims Date".

I DID get to copy some of my wallpaper, floors, downloads and skins on some cds for her. I put them in the proper Maxi files in her puter.
I also gave her File Cop, which she should have. She hasn't got internet at her apt., so I shared some of my files with her (since she can't download from Sims sites herself).
She seemed so excited to play with all her cool, new stuff. Some of the walls/floors/skins that come with Sims are not very appealing.
There are some brilliant folks out there who make gorgeous skins/faces and other objects. I've even learned to create decent art work, walls and floors myself! (Thinking of doing roofs next...Should be a piece of cake.)

I hope to hear from my Honey Bunny today. I would like to surprise Piccola and have it up and running for her. It'd be so much fun to "play together". When she was a Freshman in H.S. (I believe), we used to play for hours. I could just sit there and crochet, while she would play her families. It was like watching tv. lol
She has designed some great homes. I have had her build a home or two for me (eg Vermicelli's residence). Maybe she should have been an architect...

I need to post about Hedda's awesome Supersculpture hack again (later). I missed the boat on some of the incredible things that one little gold statue does. I didn't know about a feature on it, emailed Hedda, she was great and helped me, and now I know ALL the things that hack can do. IT IS THE BEST!!!

Introducing the Macaronis

This is Snacky (a Virgo) and his Mrs (a Cancer). They represent my husband and I in the game. If you look closely enough, you can see that Mr. Macaroni resembles Paul Newman quite a bit. He has a gorgeous face, graying hair, and very bright blue eyes. In the 2nd pic, the Macaronis are snuggling in front of their tv. It's movie night, and they've rented all of the Harry Potter dvds and are having a Potter Marathon. In the other photo, Snacky is sneaking up on his bride. He knows how squeamish and easily frightened she is, and seems to get a kick ot of scaring the be-jesus out of her.

I am a Cult Leader (paranormal career) and Snacky is a Business Tycoon. I haven't played many Sims in the paranormal field, so I thought I'd give it a try. I loved being an X-File Agent, like Muldaur and Scully for awhile, but before I knew it I was making the big bucks as a Cult Leader.
I don't play these two as much as I probably should, and I don't know why. Maybe I need to redecorate their house or build them a different one. Don't know if that's what it is...
Recently, I created and moved my Beauty and her husband, who I named "The Gemellis" into the neighborhood. I love the house I built and decorated for them. They have a cat named "Beebo". I haven't decided whether Snacky and I will get a dog or not. He is really a dog person, and I can go either way. I DO love Pita Louise, my youngest daughter's dog, but I should probably create my Baby and her beau, and let them have Pita as their own. lol
Anyway, the Macaronis haven't been in the neighborhood long, so they're still new to me. I want to work on having them meet, then bond with my beauty and her husband (The Gemellis).
That's next on my list of things to do for them.

Isn't it great? I must say, Emer of Emer's Realm (dollz, blinkies and the likes) did a far better job creating my blinkie than some of the ones I have seen out there. This one is awesome!

She added it to her blinkie's page, so I know other Sims addicts will be using it as well. Good job, Emer. Thank you, mucho.

Frankie Rigatoni's Place

Frankie's property has its own lake (appropriately named Lake Rigatoni---Click on the picture to see an enlarged version). I like the bay window in front. Inside, it shows up as a pretty little window seat I can put flower arrangements on. I also like the large stone exterior of his little place. It's about 1250 sq ft, but perfect for Frankie and his wonder dog Sonny.
Notice the hammock in the far left of the photo. I downloaded it from a cool site. Sims can actually sit and nap on it.
I don't know what will become of Frankie and if he'll ever get married. He has such a great career, a fabulous companion in Sonny, and a beautiful place. He is in love with three gorgeous gals and seems perfectly happy the way he is. Don't know what the future holds for this fella. I am definitely gonna let this one's life take its own path. Frankie and Sonny will continue to live on happily, I'm sure.

These two are absolute gems. Frankie is Vinnie's younger brother. (Vinnie and Sophie Rigatoni were the first family I ever created six years ago, when The Sims first came out. I've re-created them through the years, each time I must re-install the game into another puter.) Sonny is a four time blue ribbon winner. I'm not sure what kind of breed Sonny is supposed to be. He sort of looks like a young Great Dane, doesn't he?
Anyway, these two were fast friends from the start. Frankie is a Veterinarian. Sonny does every trick a dog in Unleashed can do. They are very close (always at a 100 score).
Frankie, a Cancer, has about three love interests in the neighborhood: Katrina Denali, Lola Linguine, and Zoie Fusilli. Katrina is a Broadway Star. They have been friends for awhile and he loves her mucho. Lola is in the top of her game in the fashion industry and Zoie (who I have posted about previously) is an International Spy. Something inside of me tells me he will end up with Katrina, but I don't know. I feel as though Zoie and Mario Mostiaccioli (Chief of Police) were meant to be. However, I have been wrong before! lol
I recently renovated Frankie's home. It turned out pretty nicely. I'll post that photo next.

This one is another incredible hack. You can now max out ALL your Sims interests, by downloading one (or all) of C & C Enterprises magazine racks. It is the greatest thing since a big slice of cheesy, saucy pizza! Any Sim can pick up a magazine and increase all of his interests, without losing any! That was the thing I hated most about going downtown to buy a magazine to increase a Sim's interest: The Sim would lose interest points in another (random) subject.

It's no problem anymore for my Sims to have instant things in common to chat about with all their other Sim neighbors, cause they are all interested in everything! They also get these increased interest points very quickly and have lots of fun doing so.
I put the magazine racks downtown, so even the Townies, as well as my neighborhood Sims can have fun and become well-versed in any and every subject.

About a week ago, I posted about the beautiful Rotini Twins, Gabriella and Isabella. I mentioned (to the best of my knowledge) that I thought the twins were probably straight. Well, to my surprise, while playing another Sim (visiting downtown), I saw Gabriella grabbing a fellow female Sim and planting a big, wet, passionate (then a firey) kiss on her! I am trying to remember WHICH Sim Gabriella was kissing now...dang it...
Anyway, see what I mean? I never know which way it will go for my Sims. Sometimes I get a feeling about them, and sometimes things seem to happen naturally, taking their own path. When I find out who the lucky Sim (Gabriella is enamoured with is),I will post about it. Hopefully, the Sim she was smooching in broad daylight at the Lattice Cafe was not a married woman...oy vey! Things could get quite complicated then.
I knew when I created the Rotini Twins, they'd keep things interesting! lol

Meet Zoie Fusilli

I think I have my "game crashing issue" solved, before I introduce Zoie, btw. Thank God in heaven! I DO so enjoy my Sims!

This is the lovely (and single) Miss Zoie Fusilli. I think a couple of the men in the neighborhood are enamoured with her (Mario Mostaccioli, Chief of Police, being one of them. You will meet him and his twin sister at a later time). I created Zoie during a time when some of the keys were stuck on my keyboard. Pita Louise bounced up on me when she was just a wee pup, my coffee went into the keyboard, and even though I followed my puter geek bud's instructions, it was still all messed up. So, I could not give Zoie a history. Too many of the necessary keys to type her story were not usable. I could barely spell "Zoie Fusilli"
to name her, as those keys were miraculously not stuck. lol

Anyway, Zoie is an International Spy. She is very athletic, has lots of friends, drives a Bentley, and has a pet dragon, named Merlin. I like playing her and Merlin. They're easy. She has a little house (could afford much more, being an International Spy and all, of course), with a pretty pond in her yard. (See pic above.)

It hasn't hit me yet who Zoie might fall in love with, if anyone, or even if she is straight, bi or gay. As I have said before sometimes it just hits me who one of my Sims is supposed to be with.
For example, Johnny Farfalle unexpectedly fell for the lovely Miss Sadie Townie, a vivacious, voluptuous, outgoing talk show host. Before I knew it, they were grabbing eachother for firey and passionate kisses. The first time he asked her to marry him, she was thrilled, and so they were wed. More on them later...
But the reason I mentioned them is, while playing Johnny, it just hit me that he and Sadie belonged together. Nothing has come to me, concerning Zoie, which means it is meant to be that she stay single for awhile longer, if not always. The same applies for several other Sims I have been playing for some time now.

Merlin is a brilliant dragon. He is maxed out on all possible (cat) skills, is completely trained, and a blue ribbon winner (his first time to show if I might add).. He boxes, plays the piano (see pic above), dances, etc. He's fun to look at and watch. She kept him a secret for awhile, Merlin being a dragon and all, but soon, the neighborhood caught sight of him, and the "cat was out of the bag" so to speak. He's been well-accepted, and a true celebrity in his own right.
Zoie is a Sagittarius. That's not one of my fave signs, but I wanted to created someone with the personality points a Sagittarius has, and thus, Zoie was born.

I usually like colorful, bright wallpaper in my Sims homes. I have noticed I don't play Sims families very often, whose homes aren't light and bright. These three wallpapers were so easily and quickly done. Fun to do, too.
If you like them, and you have the HomeCrafter tool, simply: "right click, save as" to your own puter. When you open HomeCrafter up, choose the Sugah Sim's wallpaper you want in your game, test it on the walls in HomeCrafter, name and price it, then import it into your game.

**FYI: The game shouldn't be running when you download any new item into your game.
**Also, I had to change the .bmps I originally made to .jpgs in order to put the wallpaper online for you. The color bit has to be 256 color bmp to be compatible with the game.When I had to change the wallpaper to jpgs to put them online, that changed the color bits as well. I would run your File Cop tool, to be sure the paper will not cause your game to crash.If it does, just remove my wallpaper from your game. I will figure out how to correct this complication for you asap...I promise!
I had best play try my Sims game out again this mornig to see if it's still working nicely for me...

I think I MAY have my game fixed.

I hate to even get too hopeful about it. Just when I think I may have the crashing prob worked out, it would be just my luck if it were only a fluke last night that my game didn't crash.
I deleted some files I had downloaded on 3/9. I also got rid of something that didn't look like it belonged in my skins file, plus I removed three floors I made that were probably not the right bit size to put in the game. Don't know why the File Cop didn't pick up on any of those, but I imagine that tool isn't infallible. It misses stuff, I'm sure.

Did I mention yet that I created some new wallpaper this week using PSP and a great tutorial I found online (awhile ago)? I may post those next, but I DID get to play my game last night for an hour or so and it never crashed. I am hoping the prob is a thing of the past. Please, please, please!!!

Oy vey. Talk about a BUMMER! I finally get my cd situation fixed, and now my game is crashing. I am wondering if I didn't download a corrupt file a few nights ago. So, I took out all the files in the downloads file (that I downloaded on the 9th), got rid of a couple of floors I created (in case the color bit wasn't right), and MAY have to get rid of a dozen skins or so. Funny thing is, the File Cop doesn't find any problems when I run it. I ran a check with the File Cop twice already.

I pray I can get it worked out. Don't know what else it could be. I will keep trying, til I figure it out. Can't live without my Sims. It's a great way to escape for a few hours a day.

More on the Rotinis

It's impossible to get the Twins entire estate (surrounded by a private mote, complete with oriental bridges, weeping willows and palms, 2 little ponds, and fronted by beautiful arches and landscaping) within the camera's view. The house is done in very bold, modern colors and is over 6000 square feet. Click on the picture to get a bigger, better view.

So far, I haven't really found male companions for them that I feel good about. The girls are so alive (much joie de vivre) and independent. I don't think I've created a Sim male suitable for them yet, even with all the new Townies I've created. I'm assuming they are straight. Sometimes I will play a Sim for a long time and will just get a feeling they are gay, so I begin playing them that way. I don't think that is the case with the Lovely Rotini Twins, but you never know!

The Rotini Twins: Gabriella and Isabella

Meet the lovely Rotini Twins. These are probably my most glamourous Sims, as they are always dressed as though they are models in a fashion show (probably were at one time back in Italy).
They were born under the sign of Aquarius, and are friendly, talented, brilliant, kind and lots of fun. They also have a lot of interests and have had several careers between them. When a Sim reaches the top of his/her career, he/she inevitably comes home one day with a different job (not by choice, mind you). I've never liked that feature of the game, as when my Sims work hard to be Chief of Staff at the local hospital, Candy Magnates, Astronauts, Mad Scientists, etc. etc., I'd like them to STAY in that position. However, the game is not set up that way.
For example, when the twins were at the top of their career (culinary geniuses schooled in Milan), Isabella was switched to a career in science, then on to being a criminal mastermind. NOT exactly what I had in mind for the lovely Miss Rotini, needless to say!
I can always have her fired from a job I don't want her in and re-hired in the one I've chosen for her, of course. Both twins inevitably will end up in Fashion, as that is what they were created for.
These two are really quite lovely and fun to play, and their home is stunning, if I do say so myself. More pics to come...

Sims Tools I heartily recommend.

I am not even remotely talented enough to create beautiful heads/faces, skins, or objects using the programs available out there.
However, there are a couple of neat tools you can download from the actual Sims/Maxis website. The ones I use most are: The Sims Make-a-Date tool, The Sims File Cop, Art Studio, and Home Crafter.
Here is a brief explanation of each:

The Sims Make-A-Date

The Sims (Hot Date) Make-A-Date tool is for Hot Date owners that wish to add some new townies to their downtown area. The thing I like about this tool is, I have downloaded many different skins and heads and can create my own unique town's folk, as opposed to some of the goofy characters the original game has roaming downtown. I've even got Elizabeth Taylor Townie roaming around. She's just as glamourous in the game as she is in real life. It's a very easy tool and lots of fun, I think.

The Sims File Cop

This utility will go through your data files for The Sims and clean up any damaged or incomplete files. So after you download that new skin, just have the File Cop check things out for you! If you are worried about objects, skins, heads or anything else you may download from all the wonderful Sims sites out there, this little tool can scan through everything. I've had the game, in recent years, crash, due to bad/damaged/incomplete downloaded files. This one is a must, if you download a lot of neat, new stuff into your game, like I do.

Art Studio!

You can now create new wall paintings out of your favorite bitmaps and jpegs, then have your Sims actually buy them and hang them on their walls! I've created some really neat paintings for my Sims through the years. I find classic art work, like Monet, Matisse, Van Gogh, etc., then create paintings for my Sims with the bmps and jpgs I find. Also, if I am needing a particular theme for the walls or color, I just go find something to match it online, then create the appropriate art work. It's an easy program, too...just like the others.

HomeCrafter

Create your own Wallpaper & Floor patterns for your Sims' homes, then preview them in HomeCrafter. Once you name it, price it, and approve it on the walls in HomeCrafter, you can immediately install it into your Sims game and your new wallpaper and floor will show up in the build section. This one is priceless, as I love going to online wallpaper stores, choose patterns I like, then size them for HomeCrafter. I've made some really neat wallpaper, that I'd actually put up against any out there. I am not talented in many of the programs, but some of my wall and floor stuff has turned out pretty cool, if I do say so myself! (*I will post a few of my Sims' homes interiors, to share some of the wall and floors I have created one day soon.)

This Hack ROCKS!

I don't know of a hack I am more grateful for than The Supersculpture. The version I downloaded (and I am going to re-download, as I believe it's been updated), allows your Sim to make a friend or fall in love instantly! No more driving yourself crazy trying to improve skills, go to work and up the career ladder, maintain a happy, well-balanced lifestyle, AND make enough freakin' friends to get promotions all the time!
The hardest thing for me is making and keeping friends, since it takes such an effort to have SO MANY all the time, esp. for certain careers (politics, showbiz, etc). Never again do you have to worry about that!
Have your Sim stand in front of The Supersculpture, click on the Sim he/she wants to befriend or fall in love with, and VOILA! The Sim is instantly at 100pts with the Sim of choice! This one is too good to be true, and there are MANY others on this Sims hacked items site.

The Vermicellis New Ensembles

As I posted last night, I created a few new outfits for Nana and Papa Vermicelli. They're body types (fat and thin) aren't the popular ones, so I like to add to their wardrobe myself every once in awhile.
I didn't create Mia's, as I have plenty of great girls' clothes, so there's no need.

Nana is wearing a black silk print evening gown and heels. Papa has stone-washed denim jeans on and a light brushed denim shirt. I am getting a little better with Sims Creator. These things take time.

Also, you may notice I have changed the Vermicelli's carpet and wallpaper. They definitely needed an update!

for Nana Josie and Papa Dom Vermicelli. I spent some time the other night downloading some "fabric" to import into "textures" in my Sims Creator. I found some pretty neat stuff, and saved the website (hopefully), so I can download more textures into my Creator. Anyway, I created a couple of evening gowns for Nana and an ensemble or two for Papa. I will post them, once I play the game tonight and take some good photos for their album.

I hope to have a few quiet hours playing my Sims this evening, as my throat is a bit sore and scratchy, and I'd really like to just give it time to heal before our big, romantic Riverwalk weekend at the Hyatt in San Antonio this weekend. Oooh la la. (The Sims will be staying home, thank you very much. lol)

Parsimonious Sims is definitely one of the best free Sims download sites on the net.

There are literally thousands of free downloads for both Sims 1 and Sims 2 games. I have always been pleased when I've visited, and I believe they update quite regularly (Since the birth of Sims 2, many Sims download sites no longer focus on Sims 1 downloads, but not Parsimonious.)

Meet the Vermicellis

The Vermicelli family has been with me almost as long as the Rigatonis. I wanted some of the Sims families to have relatives in the neighborhood, so Sophie Rigatoni's parents moved in.

Nana Josie and Papa Dom Vermicelli have always been two of my favorite Sims. Very late in their lives, they had a daughter, named Mia. If you look at Nana and Papa, you'll see they aren't the "fit" skin type. She is considered "fat" (which is not even remotely true, but that's what they call her body style in this game). He is considered "skinny" (which I guess he is, truth be told). With children, one size fits all. Using Sims Creator, I put together the ensembles you see them both wearing here. There aren't many clothes for fat or skinny types in the Sims, as I've said earlier. Again, most sites favor the fit body style for designing new clothes.

I created Dommie and Josie 6 years ago, like the Rigatonis (you'll meet them soon). There aren't any other families I have continued to re-create (out of necessity) through the years. She's always been into politics and is usually the Mayor of my Sims neighborhood. But, oh! The number of friends a Sims needs to go up in a political career...OY VEY! Making and keeping friends has always been one of the greatest challenges for me in this game. I find it exhausting and far too time consuming.

It was a small miracle when I found a little gold statue at a Sims downloads site that doubles as a friend/lover hack. You click on it, the Sim of your choice has a plethora of friend/lover possibilities in the neighborhood to choose from, and voila! The Sim of your choice becomes that Sims friend instantly. We're talking 100pts worth of closeness. That little gold statue is a Godsend, along with quite a few other hacks I've discovered along the way.

Anyway, the Vermicellis live in a huge house that my Piccola built for them. I think I was suffering with builder's block, so she built it and I decorated it. Dom (Capricorn) is a retired business exec and Nana (Aquarius) is still in politics. Mia (most children are born Taurus, the sign that has the most playful points) is a little doll baby; brilliant, creative and playful, just like her parents. Nana and Papa are close to their grandchildren (3 of the Rigatoni boys have been born so far. I am still waiting on their daughter and last son, but I'll explain that when I introduce the Rigatonis officially). The Vermicellis are still very passionate for one another and are enjoying the hell out of little Mia. I like this family. Like I said, it' remains one of my faves. I'll post some of the ensembles I've created for them when I get some good pics in their photo albums.

I took a "Are you a Sims Addict?" test (on a computer game website) and definitely passed with flying colors.

I'm wondering if that's a good thing or a bad thing? lol

I am still looking. Funny, the one I found that says "Sims Addict On Board" ... the word "addict" is spelled wrong. Sheesh. I can't believe no one has noticed it or that it hasn't been corrected and re-done.
Found only one I can use, so far. I'll keep looking.

Here's My Sims' Neighborhood

As you can see, there aren't any lots left to build on. Some of the lots are commercial, but most are residential. There are only a few empty homes left. Most of these homes, I have created myself. I will post photos of the ones I am most proud of. I didn't design the Cacciatore's home, only decorated it, did some cosmetic surgery, and re-did the landscaping!
I have downloaded a lot of wallpaper (both exterior and interior). I also have Sims HomeCrafter and have created some of my own wallpaper and floor tiles. I've done a bit of my own Art Work, by downloading the Sims Art Studio. I may post some of my own creations here, so you can see what I have done myself. I've used Sims Creator to create a few of my own ensembles. It's particularly necessary when I create very skinny or voluptuous-type Sims, as most Sims Skins/Fashion Designers favor the fit body style. Tomorrow, I'll show you what I mean, as two of my faves: Nana Josie and Papa Dom Vermicelli are not the normal "fit" body types, so they have "special" wardrobe needs.

Sal Cacciatore

You'll notice most everyone in Neighborhood One (which is the only one I'm playing currently), has a last name that is an Italian food/drink of some sort. I started out with my very first family 6 years ago: Vinnie and Sophie Rigatoni. I liked the idea of Italian names so much I kept it going (Vermicelli, Manicotti, etc).
I amuse myself. That's all that matters. lol

Here you will meet Sal Cacciatore. For as talented and wealthy as Sal is (he's a Celebrity Activist, earning $1400 a day), finding his one true love has been the greatest challenge of his life.
Everything else seemed to come easy to him, except finding just the right someone to share his world with.

In the first pic (top) Sal is dining (Sims love to grill, lol) with his best friend, Katrina Denali. She is the only one who doesn't have a food product name, cause my daughter, Dove, created her. (Dove used to play her, but now I do.)
Katrina and Sal love eachother immensely and have a close, supportive, playful relationship. She is a Scorpion and he is an Aries. Neither of them are rolling in "nice" points, but they do alright.
I thought for awhile they might actually fall in love, but I never felt quite right about them in a romantic relationship. If it doesn't "feel right" for single Sims to hook up in my game, I normally let my intuition be my guide.

The second pic (middle), Sal is watching a romantic movie on tv with his first wife, Mimi Townie. They hit it off right away, but Sal always felt something was missing from his life still, even after he made Mimi his bride. It didn't last long, as Mimi died in an unfortunate "accident", and Sal was single and searching again. I never quite liked Mimi with Sal enough to keep them together, even though she brought 21 Townie friends into his world, which elevated him in his career. Mimi (a Libra) was a dear, don't get me wrong. I just don't think she was for Sal.
Now I have a great hack for friends, so I don't need to worry about marrying for friends anymore (which Sims need plenty of to go up in most careers).

The bottom pic is Sal kissing his beloved Chloe. This relationship happened so fast, I've never seen anything like it since the original Vinnie and Sophie Rigatoni (they've been created each time I have to install the game in a different puter). Chloe is so sweet. She has more nice points but less outgoing points than Sal. She's a Cancer and not normally compatible with Aries, but Lord, does Sal love her! He was smitten early on. She brings out a gentler, more loving side of him and has settled him down immensely. Chloe is brilliant, the Chief of Staff at Sims St. Mary of Magdala Hospital, and is a lover of children and animals. The happy couple have two critters: Max, their dog, and Boots, their cat. I shouldn't have adopted two black pets, as I can barely tell them apart.

Sal and Chloe are doing amazingly well. I don't think I have ever known a Sims man to propose to a Sims woman so quickly after falling in love with her, and have his proposal be immediately accepted. Normally, it takes time, but these two were obviously meant to be.

I'll keep you posted on the Cacciatores. Not sure if I want them to have a child together yet. They both have huge careers and have their hands full with Max and Boots, too. You never know what the future brings, though.

I thought I'd just create a separate blog for my Sims virtual world.

I have been playing The Sims since it came out quite a few years back in 2000.
Will Wright, The Sims creator, is a genius. It's an addictive game for those of you who have never played. You basically create families, build and decorate homes for them, then have them live. I've created dozens upon dozens of characters over the past 6 years and have several expansion packs (Deluxe, Hot Date, Unleashed). There are hundreds of wonderful websites out there to download objects and skins. I will also be posting some of my favorite sites for downloading frequently.

I own the Sims 2, but do not have the capacity to play (currently) on either of my puters. Someday, maybe...(There is always hope. lol)

In the meantime, I will be posting photos of my Sims and sharing their worlds with you.
It's something I enjoy very much. It's the little things in life...
